Låt blinda kattungen Kelly få leva

It is unthinkable to kill a kitten simply because she is disabled. It is more than possible for disabled animals to live high-quality lives, and this is an inherently unethical act. It is also remarkably cruel to the family who already chose her and would care for her. Her quality of life is not restricted to her disability any more than a person's life would be. This is absolutely unacceptable and this kitten must be released to her family or shelter with an apology as soon as possible.

I have a blind kitten who is also 3 months old and she is the most happy and content pet I have ever owned. If I didn’t know better, I would think she could see because there is no holding her back from being a playful kitten. She amazes me everyday, purrs non-stop and follows me and my other animals around and plays with them until it’s nap time. She has been nothing but a blessing. Blind cats are no different than blind people, and there is more to life than vision. She gets so much pleasure out of hearing, smelling and touching her surroundings. Please give this little soul a chance.

Blind cats can and do function well since they do not rely on their sight so much. Many have adopted blind cats and they have brought much love into the home. Do not kill them.

I agree that a blind cat or any animal that is going to be well cared for and blind accommodations for its life should not be killed simply because it can't see . She has someone already ready to take on that responsibility.so what is the point of killing her .

I am signing because i KNOW first hand that blind animals are just able as sighted. As i used to reply to others...would you put your human member down just because of a difference - of course not. Just don't rearrange the furniture. :) let little Kelly LIVE, play, romp, purr and cuddle. PLEASE

All sentient beings have the right to live the life that the Creator has given them, and NO Man, Woman or Committee has the right to over-ride the Creator's plans. Are you now ready to kill handicapped humans who are blind or deaf because in YOUR opinion, they are suffering?? If you go through with this horrific plan, you will have to answer to that same Creator when you die...

One of my three cats is totally blind, and he enjoys following my husband everywhere (they are best friends), sitting in the sunshine on our deck, playing with my 15 year old cat, and eating his favorite canned food. I'm sure he would advocate for giving Kelly a chance to enjoy life. Thank you.

Kelly should not be euthanized just for being a blind kitten since humans are not euthanized for being blind. People and cats like her can still live healthy, fulfilling lives even while being blind. Please take this under consideration. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Awful to hear this. No reason why the cat won’t have a long and happy life as a blind cat

Caroline Burt (Chorley, 2021-07-16)

Blind kitties can have a long happy life in the right home. I know of many cases in the US where they have been placed in good homes and thrived. We don’t kill blind children and similar consideration should be given to this animal.

Lisa Young (Cumming, 2021-07-16)

#6057

Blind cats are just cats. They can have a normal life and all you have to do is look online and there are several examples of this. You wouldn't kill a person because they were blind, why would you kill a cat?

Blind cats are amazing! It is absolutely not cruel to let them grow up. Only a monster would think they should be euthanized, especially when they have a home waiting for it!

Last year, we adopted a blind kitten who needed both eyes taken out. Since his surgery he has adapted remarkably well. He acts like a normal cat, gets around the house with no issues and is usually the instigator of play. He also loves getting into places no other cat would get. He is incredibly loving and our family would be incomplete without him.

I have seen and gotten to know blind kittens online who have had amazing lives growing up. They play and enjoy life as much as any other cat and adapt to their situation. Killing a kitten for being blind doesn't make sense anymore than killing a child for being blind would.

A blind cat it's not a special needs cat. Cats can have a normal life without sight. I can't understand that the people who are supposed to protect animal rights do not have the knowledge of how those animals live.
I sign as a cat rescuer, and a volunteer at a cat shelter. If this is how länstyrelsen takes decisions, I don't trust them with the well being of animals.

Blind cats can have a good and rewarding life and it appears Kelly enjoys life and play. Would you kill a blind human? No, so don't kill a blind cat unless there is real evidence she is suffering. You have made her suffer by taking Her. Please reconsider and let her owners give her a good life

Marianne Neal (England, 2021-07-16)

#6086

I believe that blind cats can adapt very well to their environment & it's very cruel to kill a kitten just because they are blind, especially when a home experienced with blind cats is ready & willing to take Kelly in!

I sign because I've owned a blind cat. They are just as intrepid and funny and troublemaking as any seeing cat. Unless the cat has a disease, such as retinal cancer, that affects quality-of-life or causes severe and chronic pain, there is no reason to euthanize a cat simply because it is blind. A blind cat, especially a kitten, can do quite well despite being sightless. My Max got into plenty of hijinks, including catching mice, walking on high beams, and playing with his siblings, despite losing his sight at age 10.

Please do not put this cat to death. Blind cats are able to manage perfectly! In fact, a lot of the time you would never guess they were blind because of their adaptability. They are wonderful animals that deserve a chance at life! Being blind is not a handicap for them. Please, look on YouTube for Oskar The Blind Cat, and Homer The Blind Cat - you will see cats full of love, joy and enjoying many activities just like their seeing brothers and sisters!

I have a visually impaired cat who has been so since birth, his mother was a barn cat. He has been an inside cat since he was 8 weeks old. He is now 10 years old, lives with 2 other cats and 3 dogs. He plays, runs and has a great time every day. He learned the lay of the house early. We do not move furniture around all at once so he can get used to new layouts. Oh did I mention he sleeps at the top of a 7 foot cat tree? He does and can get up and down it on no time. We don't put humans down when they are blind and we shouldn't put animals down either. They survive and thrive if we let them.

I am the current owner of a blind 6 month old kitten who became blind due to severe eye infection as a very young kitten and had surgery to remove his eyes at 3 months old. We adopted him from a shelter at 4 months old and he was already very well adapted and sweet and playful. Since this time he has been able to easily find his way around a 2 story home, find his toys, food, water and litter boxes without any accidents. You would never have a clue he was blind except for his lack of eyes. He is happy, cuddly, playful with everyone including a 16 year old blind dog. He acts just as any other kitten and suffers no pain or ill effects. To put a kitten down who is not suffering and already has a family willing to adopt them is so sad and immoral. Please let this kitten have the life it deserves. Blindness should not be a death sentence. Many, many kittens and older cats and dogs live very happy, fulfilled lives and are another way to teach children and their families care and empathy for all creatures whether able bodied or with a disability.

I am deeply saddened to hear about the possible euthanization of the blind kitten named Kelly. Please, please do not do this. Make no mistake that blind cats can have not only a great life, but a happy life! A life filled with love, laughter and plenty of play time! See, my husband and I have a blind cat. Her name is Tinkerbell, however we lovingly call her Lil' Bit. We named her that because she's small. We got her when she was 6-months old, and she's now 4! She's happy and healthy. She's been vetted, spayed and has all her vaccines. She is quite the queen around our house! She loves to play with balls that contain bells and she loves the little "crinkle balls" that make noise. She can hear them and she follows them as she chases them around the house. She uses the scratching posts and she loves chasing her own tail! To a limited extent, she can even chase the "little red dot" on a laser pointer! Although she still has her eyes, she's 90% blind. She knows her way around our house and gets around without any limitation. She can even climb the cat tree we have and she'll lay on the top perch. Tinkerbell knows us when we come in, as she recognizes our voices as well as the way we smell. She knows when feeding time is and she has a routine. She has no issues using the litterbox either. She even enjoys playing with the other (3) cats we have at home. She's very curious and she's very loving. We love her too! We couldn't imagine our life without her.

Please, please know that Kelly can also enjoy the same loving, happy, healthy and playful life. So many animals are put to death because they are different or have special needs. All it takes is a special person to love and care for them and give them a chance! Would society do this to the elderly? Or children with special needs? Animals can think, feel and they can love! And they feel love in return! Please give Kelly a chance! Especially since she has someone who is ready to accept her and love her the way she is!

Please research... Look for Blind Cat Rescue in St. Pauls, North Carolina. Also, please look up Milo's Sanctuary in California. So many animals need our help! Do not put her to death simply because she's blind!

Jeanne Hyman (Loris, 2021-07-16)

It has been proven that blind cats can have very happy lives in the right homes. You should see the videos of Oskar the blind kitten happily playing with his toys! There is absolutely no reason to kill this sweet little cat.

Blindness is a disABILTY, not death sentence. You are still able to do many of the same things someone who is not blind can do. People and cats can live long and healthy lives without vision to say otherwise sets a unethical standard for the future. It is unfair to say that life is a cruelty for someone that can't see. Blindness does not stop joy nor love. It is not nor should ever be a death sentence. There is nothing wrong with Kelly besides that she can't see, no areas of her life are unliveable

Jag skriver på detta för jag anser att man avlider inte en katt eller ett djur överhuvudtaget bara för den har en nedsättning.
