I know many a "handicapped" cat can lead a fulfilling life - tripods, blinf, deaf, partially paralyzed, People the world over are familiar with the book "Homer's Odyssey" about a blind kitten who adapted and lived a long loved life.

Mary McNeil (Wadsworth, 2021-07-16)

#6204

Blind cats can enjoy and long and happy life. There are many blind cats that are well taken care of.

Hilary Aquino (Pennsylvania , 2021-07-16)

#6205

This is absolutely ludicrous!!! They are healthy!! They deserve to live!!! We keep blind humans alive!! Every life matters!!

April Adams (Midvale , 2021-07-16)

#6210

I love cats. Please give this kitten a chance. Blind cats get around just fine.

Leona Patterson (Edmonton, 2021-07-16)

#6211

Please allow this kitten to live and be adopted by the family wishing to do so. I had a cat, blind from birth, who lived a long, happy life in my home and was cherished as much as my sighted cats. I also had a cat who, due to an accident, was an amputee. Animals adapt so we'll to what humans see as handicaps. They deserve the same chances we have.

Lynn W Wilson (Alabama, 2021-07-16)

#6215

Please spare this precious animal’s life. She deserves to go to a caring and loving home and live a wonderful life. Being blind doesn’t not lessen her right to live, especially since there are people willing to give her a home. Blind cats can live happy and fulfilled lives with a family who loves them. It is not cruel to let her live, it’s cruel to kill her because she simply cannot see.

Jessi Kirkwood (Palmer , 2021-07-16)

#6216

Please do not euthanize a perfectly healthy, happy cat that has a family waiting. Blind cats and other cats with special needs lead happy, fulfilling lives, and this specific cat already has a happy future/family waiting! It would be MUCH crueler to kill this animal than to send her home with a family who WANTS AND LOVES HER.

chris jackson (NY, 2021-07-16)

My beloved Buddy was blind, and he did beautifully at navigating all sorts of places, from the shelter where I found him to my home--and even our hotel room where we lived for weeks after a house fire. He played and cuddled and loved and ate (how he loved to eat!), just like any other cat. He and my other cats got along fine, and he did everything they did.

As a blind kitten, Kelly has no idea that her world is unusual. She will adapt to any home, just as any other kitten would. (Buddy lost his sight when he was 8, and he adapted perfectly to a number of places, including those I've mentioned above.) Please give this beautiful little girl that chance. Do not listen to the narrow-minded ableist bureaucrats who would have you believe the lie that those who are blind are somehow less than everyone else. It isn't true. Buddy was proof of that.

Thank you,
P. Jo Anne Burgh

I sign because I have a blind horse and he's does not suffer a loss of quality of life. He knows his pasture using his other senses and enjoys being out in it even running around and kicking up his heels. Do not kill this kitten PLEASE. She can lead a full fun life.

Christina Risley-Curtiss (Gaston, 2021-07-16)

#6225

She has a loving family willing to care for her.

Jeff Mosteller (Skandia, 2021-07-16)

#6226

A blind kitten does not know they're blind. Her other senses developed more pronounced so she functions normally. This is quite obvious by her description of play, interactions with humans. The thought that she would be killed just for being blind is barbaric, cruel, unimaginable. What if humans felt that way about humans that are blind, or have another type of disability?

Nancy Walsh (Independence, 2021-07-16)

#6228

Kelly the kitten should be able to live. According to her story, she has an adopter familiar with the needs of a blind cat, and she should have the opportunity to live, and thrive, in a home ready to care for her.

Rick Lopez (Hollister, 2021-07-16)

#6229

Jag träffade Den blinda katten Oscar på Facebook. Nu följer jag Juno och George. Ärligt talat tycker jag att katter är lika lyckliga som de som inte är blinda. Kelly förtjänar att leva

Alicia Gaitan Lopez (Baza, 2021-07-16)

#6230

I believe that Kelly deserves to live; as a healthy blind cat.

Lyndell Denny (JOHNSON CITY, 2021-07-16)

#6231

Do not kill the cat just because it is blind we do not kill people who are blind do we if the cat has a home why should you care that it is blind in a loving home?

Nora Qudus (Maine, 2021-07-16)

#6232

Many blind kittens have done great.

Becky Low (Mesick, 2021-07-16)

#6237

My 2 nlind cat live healthy, happy lives. They do not know they are different and they do not suffer when in a loving home. They adapt, just as human children. My cat, Bones, blind as a kitten, plays fetch and is King of our home. No need for your government to kill the blind kitten. The cruelty is you and your killing, in this case.

Tiffany Pittman (WV, 2021-07-16)

#6238

I sign because Kelly the kitten's life matters. She knows only blindness and is still a happy, healthy kitten. She has a home and someone to care for her for her entire life, and it is wrong to take that away. Kelly the kitten is not suffering at all... How can anyone deny that she is happy, health, and able to bring much joy and happiness to her forever home? Please do not take this bundle of love and joy from her forever family... She deserves to live a long life of love and happiness...

Shelley Snyder (GILSON, 2021-07-16)

#6243

Do not kill a innocent kitten who has life and love ahead of her.

Kate Phillips (Tuscany, 2021-07-16)

#6244

My cat had to have his eyes removed because of severe and chronic inflammation. He was fine! He even caught a mouse. Cats and dogs, like blind humans, develop their other senses to compensate for blindness. Please let this kitty live—you must do more research and talk with people who have blind pets. You will change your mind.

Therese Grisham (Illinois, 2021-07-16)

#6246

Why would you want to put down a cat just because they are blind? In Sweden do you euthanase children that are born blind? Do you euthanase adults that go blind in later life? This kitten has a family willing to keep her, look after her, give her a home, love her! Stop being so backward!

Stuart Springett (Ossett, 2021-07-16)

#6247

Being blind is no reason to kill an animal, they are able to get around just fine, even those with one eye do great. Please allow the family that stepped forward, to adopt Kelly.
Kelly deserves to live a full life with a loving family.

Debbie Rich (Melbourne, 2021-07-16)

#6248

Blind cats can be just as happy as seeing cats! I've seen it both personally and online. Please let her live.

Jennifer Peate (Severn, 2021-07-16)

#6253

Blind cats can live normal lives, and taking away that chance is cruel and inhumane.

Carolyn Carceo (Lynn, 2021-07-16)

#6254

Blind cats can live a full life just like any other cat.

Michelle Anderson Anderson (North Carolina , 2021-07-16)

#6257

Blind cats can live a close to normal and happy life as much as blind humans can do. They cope well in known surroundings. It would be cruel to kill a healthy kitten without any pain just because it can't see.

Katja Neugebauer (Vienna, 2021-07-16)

#6258

Although I cannot write in Swedish, I wanted to say that Little Kelly, who already has a human adopter lined up, needs to be allowed to stay alive and to be adopted by the person who has chosen her. Blind cats are pretty comfortable and much more capable than blind humans, as the book about Homer, the blind wonder cat" can show you. She will love and be loved back, and will help to make life of the person she lives with much happier. Please let Little Kelly live and be adopted.

Becky French (Greenbelt, 2021-07-16)

#6260

Please don't kill the kitten. Blind cats thrive and have very happy lives! It's more cruel to kill the kitten than to let her live!

Donna Hamilton (22435 S.E. 240th St., 2021-07-16)

#6264

Like blind humans, I strongly believe cats with blindness and other disabilities have so much life and love to offer. Such cats can live long, full, lives. I work with cats that have multiple disabilities and they are all joyful creatures that deserve a chance.

Steven Rue (Ithaca NY, 2021-07-16)

#6266

Please allow this cat to live and go to its new living home. I have worked in zoos and shelters here in the states and blind animals live wonderful fulfilling lives. In a home that cares for her, they will work with her and she will thrive. Please let her live.

Stephanie Crain (New York, 2021-07-16)

#6268

-Erin

This animal is showing that within the right environment she is thriving.
Her other senses have become so much more heightened to enable her to adapt to the surroundings of the home that is awaiting her.
It seems that as a government you as trying to eliminate imperfections, if Kelly was not being cared for and was having to live feral there may be an argument on how the welfare of any blind animal should be viewed. In this case the argument of euthanasia is moot.
This case is circling the globe maybe notice should be taken by those who are pursuing this sad cause of action.

Halina Jones (PONTYPRIDD, 2021-07-16)

#6270

I am signing because blind cats are as awesome as every other cats and can live a happy life just like seeing cats!

Amy Burger (Rocky Mount, NC, 2021-07-16)

#6271

I have seen blind cats thriving and are no different than a sighted cat as far as quality of life goes. There is NO reason to euthanize a blind kitten. She deserves to live out her life as the awesome blind girl that she is!

Vicki Greif (Portland, 2021-07-16)

I believe all cats deserve to live and being blind doesn't cause them any problems

Laura Stillaway (Hounslow, 2021-07-16)

I believe blind cats (and humans ) can have a good if not great quality of life .

Anna Vaith (RACINE, 2021-07-16)

Please don’t euthanize this kitten. I would take him in a heartbeat if I could get him to me. What would I have to do if I did want to adopt him?

Marcus Bevan (Greenfield, 2021-07-16)

#6287

Please reconsider and save this Kitty. Blind cats can have just fulfilling lovely lives. Every living creature deserves a chance to feel loved and give love. Please check Oskar the blind cat

Blind cats can have a wonderful full life. Don't kill Kelly . Look into some famous blind cats from the U.S. they thrive .

its inhumane to put to death a healthy kitten who has a home and needs an operation - outrageous

I have a blind cat named Dixxy. Unless you knew she was blind, you could not tell. She lives a normal life with little assistance from me. Blindness doesn't stop her. Thank you for reading this message.

Christine Jurgens (Nebraska, 2021-07-16)

#6300

Ingun Winkler (Uppsala, 2021-07-16)

#6301

I have 2 blind cats and they live with my other seeing cats. They are almost 3 years old and they live a totally normal live. Of course they don't go outside the house alone but no cat should be outdoors. They run, play with my others cats. It's really funny to see them hide from the others.I think they really think that no one sees them.

Patricia González (Santiago, 2021-07-16)

#6302

Cases should be based on the individual and not a generalised stigmatisation. By all accounts this is a happy cat who only knows blind life and is thriving. Well known social media cats such as Oscar and Homer are living proof that blind cats can live as much of a full life as a blind human can, and I would argue even more so as cats are blessed with whiskers which help them see the world around them. To sentence a cat to death because you feel it is a cruel life but are unwilling to consider that this cat is actually happy and thriving is a backwards and old fashioned way of thinking and quite frankly, I would expect much better from a forwards thinking country such as Sweden.

Rachel Paterson (AVIEMORE, 2021-07-16)

#6304

Just because a kitten is blind doesn't mean she can't give love and affection. Please let this baby go to the home that is waiting for her.

Blind cats live happy lives.

Katlin Fago (Miamisburg, 2021-07-16)

#6306

Blind kitties can enjoy a long healthy life. It’s wrong to kill a kitten unnecessarily.

Shelle Libberton (San Francisco , 2021-07-16)

#6307

Blind cats can have long and fulfilling lives! Kelly has a welcoming and loving home waiting for her. By living in doors, she’ll be safe and get to know her environment just like any blind human would. By euthanizing her, you are depriving her and her new family of years of live and joy. Life isn’t always easy, but it’s worth living. Give Kelly a chance!

Amy Crosby (NC, 2021-07-16)

#6308

Please give this sweet little baby a chance to grow up and be loved. Blindness should never be a death sentence.

Linda Cobb (Arizona, 2021-07-16)

#6311

Rosel Jonsson (Bankeryd, 2021-07-16)

#6312

Please do not kill this kitten! I had a blind kitten that lived a wonderful life for 20 years! Blind cats do very well and adapt! It is a crime to kill this beautiful kitten!

Nic Weathersbee (Florida, 2021-07-16)

#6313

I will take this little beauty and give it a loving forever home to kill this kitten because it is blind is cruel and barbaric

Michelle Campbell (United kingdom, 2021-07-16)

#6314

Please do not kill this poor soul. She can live a normal life with someone who loves her. This is just despicable and cruel. If someone is willing to care for her for the love of God let them.

#6316

Blind kittens rock!

Leah Nickle (Edmonds, 2021-07-16)

#6317

To kill a kitten just because he is blind is unconscionable. I have had both blind cats and a blind dog. They had very happy lives because they adjust very well to their "impairment." They played with the other dogs and cats and just enjoyed themselves.

Margaret E Hodgkins (Denison, 2021-07-16)

#6318

Kelly doesn't deserve to be euthanized simply because she's blind. I have a blind cat that gets along well with others and has a wonderful life. He's healthy, happy and there's no way I would euthanize him! Shame on you Sweden!

Catherine Huff (Brodnax, 2021-07-16)

#6319

Please do not kill this cat. Most of my friends have adopted blind kittens and they have exactly the same fulfilling lives, if not better. Please do not do this

Please find a loving home for this kitten. There are many blind cats who live wonderful lives. You can follow their accounts on Facebook and Instagram. Euthanizing this kitten is murder. It’s unjust and it’s ignorant.

#6327

Blind cats and dogs adjust and get along fine...

Ilene Furgang (Coral Springs, 2021-07-16)

#6328

Please look at Oscar the cat, Piglet the Pink Puppy. They have both lived such a happy life and raised so much awareness for the blind humans and animals. Piglet visits schools to teach kids a determined attitude that they can do anything. Also Smiley the blind dog from Canada. Thank you

Cyndy Young (Florida , 2021-07-16)

#6329

Please let this blind kitten live!! Blind cats can live a very full life with love, it is easy for cats to learn their surroundings even without sight and if the right family is able to adopt they shouldn't have any issues more than a "normal" cat would. There are many disabled cats at shelters in US and around the world that will make great pets

Please let this beautiful kitty go to his new home. You don't kill your people because they are blind, do you?. He can manage perfectly well and his new home is waiting.

Judith Morris (Wiltshire , 2021-07-16)

#6336

Please do not kill this kitten. Cats can and do live long wonderful lives being blind.

Amy Bishop (Maine, 2021-07-16)

#6337

Blind cats can live a normal life just as sighted cats! They climb cat towers, play with toys, wrestle with their friends. I follow a blind cat and you would never know he is blind from his antics! Please don't kill this blind kitten!! Let Kelly go to her forever home! She has done nothing wrong! It isn't her fault that she's blind! Let her live!

Lori Lazzara (Tampa, 2021-07-16)

#6338

Just like blind people, cats develop their other senses. Why don't you give this kitten a chance? There is someone who already wants to love and care for this kitten. Don't be cruel.

Kathleen Tate (Ohio, 2021-07-16)

#6339

We do not kill blind people because it would be cruel to keep them alive. We should not treat animals any different. There are so many people who would love to bring this kitty I to their homes and rescues wanting to give her the chance she deserves. Blind animals can adapt expertly to their surroundings to where you wouldn't know right away that they cannot see. Please, we shouldn't think we have the right to take away her life.

Mrs. Kimb (Duke, 2021-07-16)

#6340

Please please keep this kitty alive, she is beautiful. Being blind dousnt matter. She will be loved. To kill her is inhumane. Cruel and barbaric. Give her to someone who will look after her.

Gillian Kay (St Helens , 2021-07-16)

#6343

I have a blind cat and he is very happy, healthy and doesn't even know that he is blind. Blind cats are perfect cats and doesn't suffer because of their blindness.

Nicole Rocha (Porto, 2021-07-16)

#6353

I sign because it's absolutely ridiculous to think that an animal would be put down simply because it is blind, especially when there's a good home waiting for her. It truly amazes me that "educated" people believe this poor kitten can't adapt to blindness and live a happy life. Such an archaic way of thinking! I guess common sense can't be taught.

Lisa Lee (Roaring Branch, 2021-07-16)

#6356

This is insane. The cat has a home if it needs money I’ll supply that too. Do not hurt this cat
Warning. Do not hurt the cat

Ira Saposnik md (Wisconsin , 2021-07-16)

#6360

This is incredibly inhumane. Animals are just as easily to live blind as people and it’s no reason to take the life of an innocent kitten. I work at an animal shelter and I have met multiple animals with disabilities including being blind and they all lived long, meaningful and full lives. Euthanizing a kitten over blindness? You wouldn’t do that to a person, so why is it ok for a cat? Shame on you.

Ashley Jones (Wausau, 2021-07-16)

#6364

I have had cats with disabilities before, and they have done well. They need to be loved and cuddled and allowed to explore. There are many cats, but some just steal your heart immediately. Please give the kitten a chancea to be loved.

Judith Davita-Rauch (PA, 2021-07-16)

#6365

I think that a blind cat can be still a happy cat.
Please don't kill it. Please give a chance to be a happy cat with a loving owner.

Aranka Kocsis (Gödöllö, 2021-07-16)

#6367

Please reconsider! Blind cats can live just as a wonderful life as non blind cats. I have one at home that is basically blind. You don’t need to see to feel love and compassion.

Cherine Meyer (Connecticut, 2021-07-16)

This is outrageous: I used to have a blind cat myself & she had a normal life & was a wonderful companion.

Maria Aguado (Barcelona, 2021-07-16)

Blind kittens can thrive if given a chance. And from what I understand, there is a home waiting for her. Don't be cruel. Would you do this to a human?

SANDRA NITCHMAN (HARBOR CITY, 2021-07-16)

#6371

Blind cats do not needlessly suffer in their lives. There are so many instances of them thriving because of how well cats adapt to their circumstances. Please let this happy kitten live out her days in the loving home that wants her. She does not need to die.

Pamela Oringer (Benton, 2021-07-16)

#6373

Please don’t kill this little baby. I have seen many, many kittens and adult cats live long, happy and healthy lives even though they are blind. We don’t kill children because they are blind. Don’t kill this innocent baby.

You do not kill a kitten because it's special needs.
If a Sweden SPCA kills this kitten just because it's blind then you are all barbarians and are shallow and empty pathetic humans.
