The official name of my country is Republic of China (R.O.C.). In Chinese, it’s a totally different country name from China. But this difference cannot be showed in English and most people don’t try to understand why there are 2 China. This, we are forced to use “Taiwan” as an alternative solution to highlight we are an independent country. This is our identity as a Taiwanese. We may still have long way to go to to secure and promote our identity to the world against China. If you don’t have time to understand the 2 China issue from a historical view, please at least don’t miss up Taiwan as China.
